Marsha's Music Policies

We are happy to welcome you to the Marsha's Music family. Please take a moment to review our center policies. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Marsha Melsheimer, Director, by phone at 773-288-3815 or by email.

Make-up Classes

If you miss your regularly scheduled Music Together®® class for any reason, you may schedule a make-up class. Makeup classes can be scheduled at any location, with any teacher, in any age appropriate class, on a space-available basis. They must be taken during the current semester and cannot be "carried over." You may schedule your make-up as soon as you know you are going to miss a class. We often see an end-of-semester rush, so try to schedule your make-ups as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

To schedule a make-up class, use our online Make-Up Scheduler. You may search for a class by time, day, or location, and the scheduler will display the available options. If a given class is not displayed as an option for a make-up, it means all make-up spots for that class have been assigned; please schedule your make-up for a different class or check back later to see if a spot becomes available. If you know you will not be attending a previously scheduled make-up class, please cancel it so the spot becomes available for another family.

Siblings and Other Guests

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are welcome to attend class at any time—no need to ask. Whole family music-making at home is extremely valuable to your child's music development, and attending class occasionally helps family members feel more comfortable joining in. If you would like to bring another guest (including an older sibling who may be home from school), please call the office. Visitation spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Health Policy

The health of all classroom participants is important to us, so we take measures to ensure the cleanliness of our classroom and limit exposure to germs. We take time to sanitize our classroom space, instruments, and materials after each class with a child-safe cleaning solution. Sanitizing wipes are available in class, and we ask caregivers to clean instruments after they have been mouthed. If you or your child is sick, please stay home from class and schedule a make-up.

Class Cancellations

Holiday closures will be announced at the beginning of each semester. Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather, teacher illness, and for other extraordinary circumstances. You will be notified by phone if your class in cancelled. The class cancellation may also be left on our office voicemail and posted on our website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Cancelled classes will be made up at the end of the session.

Important Info for HPNC center

Entering/Leaving the building

• For safety reason, the entrance to the building is locked, so you will need to be buzzed in to enter. • To exit, please press the green button on the left door frame simultaneously as you open the door. You can also ask the front desk personnel to buzz you out. (This keeps our little ones from sneaking out unattended!)
Parking/Stroller/Coat-Boots Policy
• Please DO NOT park in the bank parking lot across from the HPNC as your car will be towed.
• Please DO park your strollers and car seats in the coat closet or along the front wall of the gym.
• Classes will be held in two different rooms: (1) Early Childhood classroom (end of the south hallway) for Mon-Fri, and Sunday classes; and (2) Classroom E (across from snack room) for Saturdays. There are coat hooks in Early Childhood room, and shoe holders. Saturday classes should hang their coats, boots, etc. in the coat closet (on the way to that classroom) or in the cubbies along the hallway outside of Classroom E.
Snacks
• No food is allowed in the classrooms, so please use the snack room which is located between the gym and the coat room.
Play-N-Learn
• You do not need to punch your Play-N-Learn pass when you attend your Music Together class, unless you are going to a Play-N-Learn activity before or after class. Then you would get your pass punched for the day.
• If you do not already have a Play-N-Learn pass, your first visit is free, so we encourage you to check it out. http://hpnclub.org/index.php/programs/early-childhood/play-n-learn/
Space Rental
• In addition to Marsha’s Music birthday parties, the Neighborhood Club is open for other kid related rentals too! http://hpnclub.org/index.php/space-rental/
Miscellaneous
• There is a computer in the Resource Center that families can use to register for Marsha’s Music. This might be a great convenience when you keep forgetting at home! Your children are welcome to play with toys or read a book while you get this taken care of but please remember to put things back where you find them.

Refund and Credits

We offer the following refund policy (ies). The class description and the registration process will identify the specific refund policy for the class you have chosen.
Music Together Refunds and Credits
Full payment, including a nonrefundable registration fee, is due at the time of registration. You will receive a full tuition refund if you request to drop out of class before the registration deadline (typically the first day of classes).

No tuition refunds are given for class withdrawals after the registration deadline. If you withdraw after the deadline, but before your first class, you will be issued a credit towards tuition for a future semester. After your first class, pro-rated credits may be issued upon review of individual circumstances.

We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen. However, please note that non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal from class. We are not able to offer tuition refunds unless we are informed of your intent to withdraw prior to the registration deadline.

Fam Jam Refund Policy

No refunds will be given as all proceeds benefit the Marsha's Music scholarship fund.
